DATA Structure
Song \ Block \ Track
MIDINA Supports 128 Songs by default, with up to 16 Blocks per Song, and 16 tracks per Block.
Block Sequencer
Automated Forward Flow of Blocks
A blank song starts with 1 Block. When you add Blocks, MIDINA will automatically sync the end of the block with starting the beginning of the next block, making progressive music easy and automated. Toggle the Loop button to stay within a block.
Block & Track Length
Blocks have a unique Length value
Tracks also have a unique Length
Both Blocks and Tracks can be up to 2048 steps long, with each track having its own length value. With up to 16 blocks, each song can be up to 32,768 steps (2048 Bars) long. At 128 BPM that is over 1 hour of MIDI data per song!
Block BPM
Each block has its own BPM value
Block BPM can vary per block, so your songs don't have to be locked into a single BPM.
Expressive Recording
Notes, CCs, Pitch Bend, Aftertouch
Record all of your expressive input including pitch bend and CC per track!
Block Sequencer
Scroll View & Jump Selection
In addition to automated block sequencing, you can jump from one block to any other block at any time using the touch input and scroll view of the block sequencer.
Multi-Mode Sequencer
The sequencer has multiple input methods for various techniques
Record live input, use step selection with unique lengths per note input, or rapid trigger notes using the Perc mode - which intellegently keeps track of the last note you played and toggles notes on-off every step you select.
Key & Scale Modes
Automatically transpose live input or recorded inputs to a variety of musical scales
Explore what your recording sounds like in other modes, or simply lock in to a key and scale whie playing live.
CC Step Sequencing
Input CC Modulations to Create Evolving Patches
With CC messages recorded in the sequencer you can play back in real time and here your modulations bring your patches to life.
Quick Mute Access
Smart Mute MIDI System
Each track has a touch-mute indicator, and the Tactile version includes a mode where the sequencer buttons trigger the mute toggles. The muting system allows "Note_Off" messages only to pass through, to avoid hanging notes.
Program Changes Per Block
Set program change values that get automatically triggered when changing blocks
Want to switch from a bass sound to a sweeping upriser on the same track? Simply set a program change value on any given block and it will be transmitted automatically when changing blocks.
Rename Everything
Visual feedback
Set names for your tracks, your songs, your blocks, and your program favorites, making it easy to remember what is what, and making it flexible when you want to jump between blocks, tracks, or songs.
Visual Feedback
Both touch & tactile version prioritize visual feedback
Sequencer input for example show up as different colors depending on the input type (Note, CC, or Both). The tactile version uses the NeoPixels to show everything from track status, mute status, sequencer pagination, and recorded inputs in real time.
Clear CC Mods
Clear Modulation without clearing notes
Like your sequence of notes or chords, but want to try some different modulation? Just press "Clear Mod" to clear only your modulation data.
Responsive Knob UI
Knobs are automatically updated based on the state of the application
The 8 knob values are always visible on-screen, and their values and labels are automatically updated when you switch between states in the UI.
Block Sequencer
Flexible expansion
Easily Duplicate a block, add a new block, delete a block, or re-order your blocks within the block sequencer with dedicated UI buttons for each action.
Clock Support
Supports both internal & external clock sources
MIDINA will load up with internal clock being the primary clock source. You can easily disable the internal clock to use any external clock source, and the transport keys will still work for triggering external device transport messages.
